Website Tracking is a way of seeing the number of views the specified website is getting. The tracking will pick up every hit and where possible link that hit with an Account in the system via the IP address.
Configuring a new website
To add a new Website to track you will need to go to the Menu option, Tools> Website Tracking > View Sites.
If you haven't already you need to send a Request to setup Website Tracking.
You just need to enter your email and click Send Email (
) This will then trigger a request for this to be configured. You will be notified when this is complete and you can continue with setting up the websites.
To setup a new site you will need to click on the
This will bring up the following window:
You are required to enter in a Site Name, this is purely so you know what website these results are from.
The Site URL must be the exact URL for the site you want to monitor, i.e. https://fivecrm.com
Once you have saved you will see the result in the list, you will need to repeat this for the other pages you want to track if you would like each page to have their own separate results.
It is possible to track multiple pages on one URL, for example: if we wanted to track both http://fivecrm.com and http://fivecrm.com/contact-us/ we would only need to add the first URL and then you will need to make sure you add the same Javascript code (explained below) to each site on the website. This would then group the results from both sites.
Tracking
To collect the Javascript code to add to your website simply click on the
icon.
This will then display the Javascript code that you will need to copy and paste to the footer of every site you wish to track. If you are not sure of how to do this you will need to get in touch with your IT team or Website provider and they will be able to help further.
Viewing the tracking results
You can click on a site URL to view some quick statistics on that site.
You will be able to view a quick summary of the visit, as well as account information if it matches an account.
