This page explains how to setup Linked Fields manually, if you have a large list of fields contact Customer Success Support to import the file for you.

Please have the data in the format of a list in a spreadsheet:

Go to Menu > Setup > Field headings > Account Additional Fields

Find enough spare Additional Fields for each column. In this example there are 3 columns (Vehicle Type, Size of Vehicle and Model) so you would need 3 additional fields.

Enter the field headings, in this example the field headings are: Vehicle Type, Size Of Vehicle and Model.

Click the drop down items button (

) for the first field.

Enter all the unique values in the first column. In this example for Vehicle Type the unique values are: Van and Car

Click the drop down items button (

) for the second field.

Enter all the unique values in the second column. In this example for Size Of Vehicle the unique values are: Small Van, Medium Van, Large Van, Small Car, Medium Car and Large Car

And continue this for all your other columns.

Next go to the Menu option, Setup > More > Linked Field drop downs

To create a new entry click

button_newfieldmapping

Use this screen to save each field needed for each line in the screenshot above.

The system can have multiple linked field setups, the Map Name determines which setup this entry belongs to. The Map Name can be anything.

In our example, the Map Name is Vehicle Type.

Column 1, the first drop down would be Vehicle Type, the drop down to the right is Van.

Column 2, the first drop down would be Size Of Vehicle, the drop down to the right is Large Van.

Column 3, the first drop down would be Model, the drop down to the right is the linked Model name.

Click Save when done.

You will need to repeat this for each linked field.

Create a new Panel

Go to the Menu option, Setup > Panels > Panels

Click the button:

Select the Panel Type: Field Mapping

(this feature will only work with the panel type of Field Mapping)

Give the Panel a Name and Title

Select the Map Name in the drop down for Extra Options

Click Save when done.

Edit your Panel View and add the new panel.
