Meta Achievements are achievements which are earned when regular achievements, or multiple regular achievements are completed. To find out more about regular achievements, click here.

Here is an example of a scenario where I would want to use a Meta Achievement:

I have set up a training database in my system. I want my users to each undergo basic training in this database area before I start them working in the main campaign areas, so that they understand how to use the system and are shown this in a controlled environment.

I have set up several achievements to track their progress in the training area, making sure they can perform the standard tasks such as: wrapping up an account, creating a new account, creating a new contact and booking an appointment. Once they have completed all of the predefined tasks and have been awarded with the appropriate achievements, they will also earn a Meta Achievement to show their accomplishments.

Each of the individual achievements are:

chrome_2017-08-03_11-18-03

chrome_2017-08-03_11-18-31

This Meta Achievement then looks like:

Creating a Meta Achievement

You create Meta Achievements in the same way you create Regular Achievements, except for 2 changes.

The Achievement Type is 'Meta Achievement', as opposed to 'Regular Achievement'.

When selecting the Criteria for the Meta Achievement, you select from Regular Achievements, rather than from Achievement Criteria.

If you need reminding on how to create a Regular Achievement, click here.

Editing a Meta Achievement

You edit a Meta Achievement in exactly the same way as you would a regular achievement. You click on the cogwheel in the 'Actions' column to make the changes you require.

Removing a Meta Achievement

You can delete a meta achievement by clicking the dustbin icon under the Actions column. You will then need to confirm that you want to delete the achievement.

If you delete an achievement, all users who previously earned this achievement will lose it, as well as the points associated with this achievement.

In general it is better to disable achievements you no longer wish your users to be able to earn, so that any users who had completed the achievement will keep this and their points from earning this.

To disable an achievement, you need to edit the achievement by clicking on the cogwheel, then under the Basic Details tab, untick the 'Enabled' box.
