To be able to send SMS texts directly from the system you need to be signed up with an email-to-SMS gateway service.

The system does not have an allegiance to any particular service, but one such service is www.txtlocal.co.uk

Follow the same steps as for an email campaign except for the following.

There are two scenarios for when this may be applicable:

Creating a normal campaign using the Assign screen

Creating a template campaign, possibly for scheduling

When creating a normal campaign using the Assign screen

Check the box for Fax/SMS:

Then enter the email address to merge the mobile phone number. For example: *mobile@txtlocal.co.uk

Note that any field can be used in the merge, it does not have to be the system defined *mobile. For example, it could be the field contact additional 01 which would need the long merge format, as in: [merge:CONT-ADDN01]@txtlocal.co.uk

Creating a template campaign

Edit the campaign step, check the box for Special email address for Fax/SMS.

Then enter the email address to merge the mobile phone number.
